Benefits of Pet Grooming

Your pet’s skin and coat can handle mud, rain, and snow, but cats and dogs are still prone to skin issues like dryness, irritation, dandruff, and infections. While mild symptoms can be easy to miss, regular grooming helps prevent and manage these problems.

Our professional groomer will pamper your pet while identifying and addressing common skin concerns. Regular grooming also reduces shedding, matting, and hairballs. Here’s why grooming at Waunakee Veterinary Clinic makes a difference:

  • Training: From flea and tick treatments to odor control and anal gland care, our team is trained to handle the less pleasant tasks safely and effectively.
  • Experience: Whether your pet is used to grooming or needs a gentle touch, our groomers are skilled in working with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
  • Tools: We use specialized shampoos, brushes, clippers, and more including equipment to lift large dogs, making nail trims and full-service grooming easier for you.

Our Grooming Services

Bath with Shampoo

Treat your pet to a refreshing bath using premium, pet-safe shampoos. Our thorough cleansing removes dirt, grime, and odors, leaving your furry friend feeling fresh and clean.

Blow Out, Fluff, and Brush

Our skilled groomers will use a professional blow dryer to achieve a fluffy and well-groomed coat. – They will then carefully brush your pet’s coat to remove any loose fur and tangles, leaving it looking sleek and beautiful.

Scissor Work

Our groomers will perform scissor work to shape and style your pet’s coat according to your preferences, ensuring a neat and polished appearance.

Clipper Work

Our team is equipped to provide clipper work for a clean and uniform look, ideal for various coat types. This service includes trimming and shortening the coat while maintaining the desired length and style, helping to keep your pet comfortable and looking sharp.

Paw Pads and Nail Trim

We’ll carefully trim and tidy your pet’s paw pads, ensuring they remain clean and comfortable. Our team will also perform a gentle nail trim, keeping your pet’s nails at a healthy length to prevent discomfort.

Ear Cleaning

Our groomers will gently clean your pet’s ears to remove wax and debris, promoting ear health. As hair and dirt build up inside your pet’s ears, they may stop hearing as well and be at an increased risk of infection.

Oral Care

Just as you go to the dentist, your pet needs regular dental care. We can use toothpaste that is safe for your dog or cat to clean their teeth, preventing decay. Our veterinary technicians can also perform cleanings to remove plaque.

Gland Expression

Gland expression can relieve discomfort and reduce the risk of infection. If your cat or dog cannot express their anal glands on their own, our team has the training to clean them safely, preventing them from leaking or bursting at home.
