Oral health is very important for your pet's longevity and quality of life. Either Dr. Arnett or Dr. Abrams may recommend a dental cleaning. Your pet's dental cleaning is similar to people dental cleaning, however it is necessary for pets to be anesthetized for the procedure. Our hospital take the utmost care in providing the safest anesthesia and detailed monitoring during the procedure. Once your pet is anesthetized, each tooth is scaled (cleaned) carefully, then a thorough oral exam is performed to assess for any infections, broken teeth or oral tumors, followed by polishing each individual tooth. Oral health problems, fractured (broken) teeth are addressed as needed using advanced dentistry and local anesthesia (nerve blocks).
